September News Roundup
07-10-2010Summer is over, kids are back at school, the days are getting darker... but we are getting ever closer to shoving our latest game out of the door. With the release of Sports and Kinect a few weeks away, September proved that there is no stopping our media machine.
Here on Rare.co.uk the updates have come thick and fast. We managed to document our gaming trade event adventures while revealing Boxing, Beach Volleyball, Table Tennis and Party Play for the very first time. To go alongside our official screens, plenty of videos were spawned which you can peruse at your leisure. You might have also spotted our lovingly crafted Attract video showcased on the front of the site – carrots and robots have never had so much fun.
Outside the lovely confines of our homepage, Sports managed to generate plenty of coverage including another two celebrity appearances. After a sterling showing from Turtle last month, Usain Bolt was next to carry the Sports baton by showing off his 100m skills in Australia. He’s quick, but we reckon we could take him... you should see us beat Canary Mary. You can also check out the stars of the SyFy channel knocking down some pins and generally having a jolly good time with Kinect.
To end with, we have something a little bit special. In collaboration with the folks over on the Kinect for Xbox 360 Facebook group, we created a Sports Q&A video hosted by everyone’s favourite Avatar, Web Producer Mike. As well as containing more Sports info than you can shake a stick at, it shows that Avatars really do exist, or at least that we are capable of dubbing someone’s voice on an Avatar’s body.
As the full-time whistle will soon be upon us, expect a continuous flurry of updates throughout October – the month things start getting real.
