August News Roundup
06-09-2010August – usually a quiet month for sports in general – became jam-packed with opportunities to let the public play Kinect Sports for the first time.
Trade shows were the flavour of the month starting with our very own video diary of the geekiest show on earth, Comic-Con. Cosplayers, Bowling, and a Rik Waller lookalike made the final cut from the hours of footage captured, but sadly no evidence of any comics, or any ‘con’ for that matter.
Things took on a slightly more German feel as the guys flew into Cologne for Gamescom/GDC Europe 2010. Diaries, pictures, and another video diary kept us busy, but there was also plenty of external coverage to keep even the most hardened fan satisfied. Inside Xbox held a pretty awesome community event where Kinect honcho Kudo played some Football and our very own Nick Burton discussed Sports with the legendary Dan ‘MrPointyHead’ Maher.
From our tourage, to another... Entourage, that well-known hipster TV show, has a character called Turtle and it seems he owes us £34.91/$49.00 (according to Amazon) for the copy of Sports that he’s currently playing. If anyone knows his address, let us know and we’ll send Banjo round to put him back in his shell.
Talking of Banjo, Rareware Archives (formerly Spiral Mountain) also caught up with Nick to answer some Sports questions the old-fashioned way, via a Q&A. Read all about it here, as they say.
That’s your lot, and with PAX and TGS coverage coming up in September, it appears Sports will just keep runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’, and runnin’ runnin’...
