30/10/08: Demotherapy
Time for more fun and games with Rare demos on Xbox Live Marketplace. A Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise demo has been up there for a while, and it was joined yesterday by Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. |
|
So whether you're still dubious about the newer aspects of Banjo or itching for something to tide you over until its release, go download that beast. I harassed the team to provide a brief description so that you know what to expect:
"The demo contains four single-player challenges set in Banjoland, a garage tutorial to help players get to grips with the editor used to build vehicles, and a small section of our enormous hub world Showdown Town to explore and find crates containing vehicle components (the main game has over 100 including gadgets, weapons, engines, wings and propellers) to build better contraptions at Mumbo's Motors. Also includes two Banjoland multiplayer game types: Queen of the Knoll and Boaty Banjo Brawl."
To the best of our knowledge, the Banjo demo is only exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscribers for a short period before becoming available to all. And not wishing to leave out the VP peeps, I prised some Trouble in Paradise demo details out of their crooked papery fingers too:
"Roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise demo. The calm of Piñata Island has been shattered by Professor Pester's retinue of knuckle-headed Ruffians and it's up to you to restore the natural order. Play through a selection of challenges to learn the latest Piñata techniques or simply enjoy recreating the Dessert Desert and Pinarctic regions in your garden. With lots of new Piñata species to attract, an even greater level of customisation and the ever-present threat of Professor Pester, the demo will have you itching to get your hands dirty. Weed it and reap!"
The VP: TIP demo went up on October 3rd, and of course if that tickles your fancy, the full game has been out since early September. Nuts & Bolts, meanwhile, arrives on November 11th in the US and 14th in Europe, with other territories soon to follow. That's a bear-able wait, isn't it? Eh? Isn't it? |
