20/11/08: In Line for Promotion

It's all about the publicity these days, ain't it? So with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts launch fever still in the air, here's a round-up of accompanying features recently disgorged onto the internet.

Worth mentioning first, as it's scheduled for this weekend, is the opportunity for early Banjo adopters to compete online against a bunch of upstarts and braggarts from the Rare development team. It's happening on Xbox Live from 3–5pm EST on Sunday November 23rd. Interested? Want more details? Better click here then.

Next! If you hadn't noticed, key members of the Banjo cast have gone and set up their own profiles on Facebook, and not only that but they've invited and answered questions from fellow users. Banjo & Kazooie got their joint responses in first, closely followed by Mumbo Jumbo, L.O.G. and finally Grunty (I bet all those rhyming responses took ages to write, feel sorry for any poor fool caught up in that business, etc).

Interviews! They're all over the place. Adam from the Nuts & Bolts team was telephonically interrogated by Major Nelson for Show #299.5, while studio head Mark Betteridge has been discussing Banjo and many other subjects with the likes of 1UP and GamesIndustry.biz in recent weeks. Should also be a few more Banjo team appearances in the near future.

And of course we mustn't forget the official Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts community site at banjo-kazooie.com, which since the game's release has been upgraded with useful new parts – see what we did there – including compatibility with Leaderboards and in-game photo functionality in the Showroom. That's not too shabby, is it? Eh? Is it?
